Abstract: | We present the design, implementation and experimental evaluation of an efficient event-triggered wireless sensing system. We propose an event-triggered logical component model, which encapsulates adaptability, responsiveness and energy efficiency design constraints. We then design a wireless sensing system for monitoring acoustic emissions through the composition of event-triggered logical components. We present the integration of these components onto a novel dual-processor wireless sensing platform, and extensively evaluate the developed prototype with respect to responsiveness and energy efficiency using real-world acoustic emission traces. |
